Race Retro 2012 Celebrates Thirty years of Honda
Race Retro, Europe's premier International Historic Motorsport Show, will be celebrating the Honda Racing Corporation's thirty-year involvement with motorcycle sport, when the show returns to Stoneleigh Park, Coventry, from 24-26 February 2012.Few manufacturers have been such an integral part of motorcycle sport as Honda...and for such a sustained period. Motorcycle sport is at the very core of the company's DNA. Ever since the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) was founded on September 1st 1982, this acutely-focused and hugely-successful organisation has been at the forefront of GP racing, road racing, endurance racing, trials riding, and motorcross.
Possibly unique in the world of motorsport, in addition to covering all disciplines and operating the works Hondas, HRC is intimately involved with its broad and varied customer base. Ever since its inception, HRC has actively supported privateer teams and individual riders, who have always been able to avail themselves of technical support, set-up advice, research and development, and specialist parts. Visitors to Race Retro's Hall 3 will delight in the variety of Honda displays with their wide range of iconic and significant bikes and period memorabilia. They will also delight in the fact that they can rub shoulders with celebrated Honda team riders, team managers, and mechanics.
Of course, Classic bikes should be heard as well as seen! The good news is that the race bike 'Fire-up Paddock' is returning for 2012. Each day, just after the lunch break, this aural arena will resonate with the sounds of bike racing's glorious past, including a number of marvellous multi-cylinder Hondas.
